The next generation of New Zealand freeride athletes is making its mark on the world stage, with a Kiwi landing on the podium at a Junior Freeride Tour competition for the second weekend in a row. Finn Duffy placed second in men’s snowboard at the three-star competition held in the French resort of Les Arcs on Sunday.

The fastest snowboarders on the planet have descended on Solitude (USA) for the 2016-17 snowboard cross World Cup season's second stop. NZ's Duncan Campbell successfully qualified through to final rounds, finishing in 30th place in time trials with the top 48 fastest racers making the cut.

Freeski and snowboard athletes were treated to clear, calm conditions for the final day of competition at the 2016 Cardrona Games today. 80 athletes, including home-grown Kiwi talent as well as a strong international contingent, threw down their best tricks in the 22ft high Olympic halfpipe at Cardrona Alpine Resort near Wanaka.

On day two of Cardrona Games slopestyle, NZ rider Zoi Sadowski Synnott (Wanaka) and Canadian rider Sebastien Toutant were the respective winners of the snowboard competition. Mirroring yesterday’s results, Kelly Sildaru (EST) and James Woods (GB) once again took home top honours in freeski.
