Cool finished in third-place at the Spy Optics FIS NZ Freestyle Open Slopestyle. As the top scoring U18 snowboarder Cool also claimed the World Rookie Tour title.

The Spy Optics FIS NZ Freestyle Open got underway at Cardrona Alpine Resort today with the snowboard and freeski slopestyle qualifiers. With snow starting to fall heavily and visibility deteriorating, only the women’s field was able to complete their two runs.

Congratulations to the following athletes who have been named to the SSNZ New Zealand Freeride Team. Look out for them training at Treble Cone, the team's official home resort.

As the snow sports season gets underway in NZ, our elite skiers & snowboarders will be working hard to ensure they continue the medal-winning success of the 2018 Winter Olympics.

New Zealand snowboarder Carlos Garcia has finished fifth in the men’s Slopestyle at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

The New Zealand Team has made an encouraging start to its Olympic campaign with snowboarder Carlos Garcia Knight finishing in second place in the men’s Slopestyle heats in PyeongChang.

Matthew Cox of Australia and Reira Iwabuchi of Japan were the winners of the men’s and women’s snowboard. Mee Hyun Lee of Korea won the women’s ski and Birk Ruud of Norway the men’s ski.
