New Zealand snowboarder Finn Duffy has claimed his third podium finish of the 2017 northern hemisphere season, winning the Freeride Junior Tour stop in Fieberbrunn, Austria on Saturday (11 March).
Montafon, Austria (19 February 2017) – 17-year-old Queenstown snowboarder Finn Duffy has won a Freeride Junior Tour competition, staged at the Austrian resort of Montafon on Sunday.
New Zealand’s young freeride athletes continue to perform well against strong international fields with snowboarder Finn Duffy claiming third place at the Eldorado Junior Freeride three-star competition in Andorra over the weekend.
Three New Zealand athletes were amongst sixty of the best young riders from around the world who were invited to compete on the technical slopes of the Andorran ski resort of Grandvalira for the most prestigious event in junior freeride: The Freeride Junior World Championships.
The next generation of New Zealand freeride athletes is making its mark on the world stage, with a Kiwi landing on the podium at a Junior Freeride Tour competition for the second weekend in a row. Finn Duffy placed second in men’s snowboard at the three-star competition held in the French resort of Les Arcs on Sunday.
