New Zealand’s top alpine ski racers were back in action today at Queenstown’s Coronet Peak ski area for The Coronet Cup Giant Slalom.  It would prove to be a challenging day’s racing with many top ranked racers failing to finish their two runs.

The first slopestyle event, and first event on the Talent ID Pathway, was held yesterday at The Remarkables and couldn't have been on a better day.

Snow Sports New Zealand and Treble Cone have signed a Partnership Agreement which will see Treble Cone become the official resort partner of the NZ Freeride Team.

New Zealand skiers have been showcasing their talents on the international freeride circuit  with Craig Murray winning the Freeride World Qualifier tour event in Austria today, and Sam Lee  earning his first Freeride World Tour podium with a third place in Alaska.

Sam Lee has earned his first podium placing on the Freeride World Tour, the sport’s most prestigious competition. Lee finished in third place in today’s competition in Haines, Alaska which is the penultimate stop in the five-stop world tour.

The 2016/17 ski cross season came to a satisfying conclusion on Saturday at the Sierra Nevada 2017 Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships with New Zealand ski cross racer Jamie Prebble earning a silver medal.

 NZ freeskier Jackson Wells has landed a bronze medal on debut at the X Games, one of the most prestigious events on the international freeski competition circuit.

NZ ski cross racer Jamie Prebble has closed out his 2016/17 Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup season with a strong result, finishing in 12th place.

With over 100 riders and a start list of who is who in the world of slopestyle freestyle skiing, the level of riding was extremely high on March 2nd, 2017 for the Freeski World Cup Qualifiers in beautiful Silvaplana near St Moritz.

Skier Sam Lee has claimed victory at a Freeride World Qualifier Tour event in Austria, adding to a string of top results and solidifying this season as the most successful of his career to date.

Nico Porteous has finished eighth in the halfpipe World Cup event staged in Bokwang Phoenix Park, which also served as the official test event ahead of the next year's PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

NZ freeskier Nico Porteous has claimed a top 10 spot in the halfpipe qualifications for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic test event staged at Bokwang Phoenix Park, taking him through to the final rounds of the World Cup to be staged on Saturday 18 February.

Sam Lee is charging through his first season on the Freeride World Tour, yesterday claiming a fourth place finish at the second tour stop in Andorra. The result comes off the back of an eighth place finish at the competition opener staged at the same ski area in the Pyrenees a week ago. 

The Cardrona NZ Park and Pipe Team has travelled to Quebec, Canada to compete in slopestyle and big air World Cups from February 9 to 12, 2017. Competition got off to a good start today with Tiarn Collins and Zoi Sadowski Synnott qualifying for finals in the Snowboard Big Air and Jossi Wells through in the Freeski Slopestyle.

 Wanaka skier Sam Lee has ticked off his goal of a top 10 result at his first ever Freeride World Tour competition, finishing eighth in last night’s (NZT) event staged in the Andorran resort of Vallnord-Arcalis.

Three New Zealand athletes were amongst sixty of the best young riders from around the world who were invited to compete on the technical slopes of the Andorran ski resort of Grandvalira for the most prestigious event in junior freeride: The Freeride Junior World Championships. 

The first of back-to-back Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup races scheduled to take place in Feldberg (GER) this weekend was cut short on Saturday after noon due to a winter storm that blue into the area during the competition.

The Freeride World Qualifier 4-star event held in Les Arcs, France on 3 February had a distinctly Kiwi flavour with three New Zealand athletes making the podium. Sam Lee placed second in men’s ski, Maria Kuzma second in women’s snowboard and Roland Morley Brown second in men’s snowboard.

New Zealander freeskier Craig Murray has claimed victory at a Freeride World Qualifier 4-star competition held in the Austrian resort of Hochfugen. Anna Smoothy finished fourth in the women’s freeski division.
