The New Zealand Olympic Committee together with Snow Sports NZ regret to announce that freeski slopestyle athlete Jossi Wells has withdrawn from the New Zealand Olympic Winter Games team.

Freeski brothers Jossi and Byron Wells have been named to the New Zealand 2018 Olympic Winter Games Team.

With over 100 riders and a start list of who is who in the world of slopestyle freestyle skiing, the level of riding was extremely high on March 2nd, 2017 for the Freeski World Cup Qualifiers in beautiful Silvaplana near St Moritz.

The Cardrona NZ Park and Pipe Team has travelled to Quebec, Canada to compete in slopestyle and big air World Cups from February 9 to 12, 2017. Competition got off to a good start today with Tiarn Collins and Zoi Sadowski Synnott qualifying for finals in the Snowboard Big Air and Jossi Wells through in the Freeski Slopestyle.

For the second day in a row the weather was the major player at the first slopestyle World Cup of the season in Font Romeu. With no more possibilities to run the show, the qualifications results were taken to stand as the final rankings. NZ's Jossi Wells therefore finished in 10th place.

The 2016/2017 FIS Freestyle Skiing Slopestyle World Cup is underway in Font Romeu, France with NZ’s Jossi Wells successfully through qualifying rounds against a stacked field.
