Piera Hudson will close out 2018 holding the lead in the ladies’ Giant Slalom and overall standings in the Far East Cup (FEC) series, and having made a significant jump up the world rankings.

 NZ ski racer Piera Hudson faced the toughest of weather conditions at Wanlong Ski Resort in China, battling temperatures of minus thirty-five degrees as well as strong winds, but managed to maintain a first run lead in the Giant Slalom and charge home for the win.

NZ skiers are making their presence felt on the international stage with  Piera Hudson claiming bronze in Slalom at the Far East Cup in China, and Beau-James Wells, Nico Porteous and Miguel Porteous qualifying first, second and third at the Freeski Halfpipe World Cup  in the USA.

Piera Hudson has achieved a career best performance at her first World Cup of the season, skiing from start bib 59 to finish 26th in the Slalom at the Killington Cup in Vermont, USA.

It has been a busy weekend of competition for New Zealand’s top skiers and snowboarders, with athletes competing at three World Cups in Austria, China and the USA.

Third place on the podium today went to New Zealand’s Piera Hudson who laid down the challenge on run two of the ANC Slalom at Winter Games NZ

Piera Hudson skied a very solid second run in soft bumpy conditions to finish 4th overall in today’s ANC Giant Slalom at the Audi quattro Winter Games NZ

Adam Barwood and Piera Hudson have claimed back-to-back national titles at The New Zealand Alpine National Championships held at Coronet Peak. Adam and Piera today claimed the Slalom championship titles, having also been crowned Giant Slalom national champs.

The Alpine National Championships got underway at Coronet Peak today and after some hard-fought racing Adam Barwood  and Piera Hudson  were crowned national champions.  

The first International Ski Federation (FIS) races of the season wrapped up today at Cardrona Alpine Resort with New Zealand skiers consistently recording top results throughout the four-day series.

The 2017 Alpine World Champs in St Moritz have now wrapped up with the New Zealand team coming away with some strong results and positive learning experiences. 

NZ ski racers have posted solid results on day three of the Far East Cup in Korea, taking them one step closer to their goals of qualifying for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games to held at the same venue in just over one year's time. Willis Feasey placed seventh in the men's GS, and Adam Barwood 14th. Piera Hudson finished ninth in the women's field.

National ski team members Adam Barwood, Willis Feasey and Piera Hudson have just wrapped up three days of racing at Copper Mountain in the USA.

Piera Hudson and Willis Feasey have been crowned national giant slalom champions for the third year running. 

It was a weekend of celebration for New Zealand’s Junior snow sports athletes. On Friday evening freeskier Beau-James Wells was named Junior Sportsman of the Year at the Otago Sports Awards.
