With just under one year to go until the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games get underway in South Korea, New Zealand sit-skier Corey Peters has claimed a silver medal at the test event currently being held in PyeongChang. 

Today, Thursday 9 March 2017, marks exactly ‘one year to go’ until the start of the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games.

With two days to go until test events for the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games get underway in PyeongChang, Korea, Cardrona NZ Para Alpine Ski Team member Corey Peters has claimed a World Cup silver medal in Super-G.

Up-and-coming Para alpine ski racers Aaron Ewen and Samuel Tate  are enjoying success in their first full season competing at IPC sanctioned events on the international stage. The pair has recently wrapped up an intensive month of racing at events in the USA and  Canada, with both skiers earning several podium placings.

The Para Alpine Skiing World Championships have finished on a high for the New Zealand team with Adam Hall earning a bronze medal in Slalom on the final day of racing in the Italian resort of Tarvisio. The result brings the medal tally to three with Corey Peters earning silver medals in the Downhill and Super-G last week.

More than 100 of the world’s best skiers from 30 countries have arrived in Tarvisio, Italy, for the 2017 World Para Alpine Skiing Championships which began with the Opening Ceremony on Sunday (22 January). New Zealand’s Adam Hall will compete in the men’s standing events and Corey Peters in the sitting events.
