Jossi Wells Remains in Good Spirits Following Training Accident

Wanaka, New Zealand (18 September 2014) – New Zealand Freeskier Jossi Wells (Wanaka) is back home and remains in good spirits despite suffering an injury to his neck last week.

Jossi was at Thredbo Resort in Australia for the 2014 Toyota One Hit Wonder Big Air contest and sustained the injury during training on Friday 12 September when he came up short on landing and bounced off the knuckle of the jump.

He was immediately assessed by the resort’s ski patrol staff before being evacuated to Thredbo Medical Clinic for x-rays. Jossi was then sent to Canberra for ascan which showed he had a stable fracture in one of his vertebrae. He spent two days in Canberra hospital before returning to New Zealand where he will begin his rehab process.

"I'm walking around and not in too much pain,” says Jossi. “I feel very blessed to have come out of this fall the way I have; it could have been a lot worse.”
