Welcome to the Snow Sports NZ Freestyle Series

The SSNZ Slopestyle Series is back for 2020 with an exciting new format and a change of name - welcome to the SSNZ Freestyle Series, incorporating the Burton Snowboard Series and the Völkl Freeski Series!

The 2020 Series will kick off with a new video edit comp, followed by events at Mt Hutt on 1 August, Cardrona on 29 August, and The Remarkables TBD 1st week of September/October school holidays. Get the dates in the diary and we‘ll let you know when we’re open for registrations.  More info about the video comp coming up soon on our website too.

A huge shout out to our new sponsors Burton and Völkl, who are getting behind the Series and helping us to find the top freeskiers and snowboarders in the country. The SSNZ Freestyle Series has become an important part of the competitive pathway and we’re excited to see you guys getting after it!

A few words from our sponsors:

Burton is proud to be supporting the next generation of snowboarders through the Burton Snowboard Series. We believe that grassroots junior snowboarding events are an important part of creating pathways for up and coming snowboarders to develop their confidence, their skills and their snowboarding careers. Over the years we’ve seen top professional Burton riders like Carlos Garcia Knight and Zoi Sadowski Synnott progress through these types of events, going on to represent their country at an Olympic level.

The Völkl Ski Series is an exciting opportunity to see New Zealand’s up and coming athletes in action and here at Völkl we’re stoked to be partnering with Snow Sports NZ to support these events. We’ve loved watching Völkl skiers like Olympian Finn Bilous and Youth Olympic Games medallist Luca Harrington breakthrough on the world stage and we’re proud to be backing the next generation as they kickstart their competitive careers.
