Wanaka, New Zealand (September 2, 2013) –The FIS alpine ski race series continued at Treble Cone today with competitors taking to the ‘Big Skyte’ for the Slalom race.
Willis Feasey achieved the day’s best result for the New Zealand men, finishing in 14th place with a time of 1:41.64. Fraser Hannon placed 22nd in 1:45:39 with Tai Juneau just behind in 23rd place in 1:46:83. Mark Engel from the USA was the overall winner with a time of 1:35:54.
Austrian skiers were once again to the fore in the women’s field, claiming the top three spots. Christina Ager posted the winning time of 1:44.07. New Zealand women Victoria Taylor (2:08:29) and Emma Gamson (2:09:33) placed fifteenth and sixteenth respectively. Harriet Miller-Brown did not finish her first run.
The FIS Tech series continues tomorrow at Treble Cone.
