Silvaplana, Corvatsch, Switzerland (8 February 2013) – Anna Wilcox-Silfverberg (Auckland) has recorded a personal best result, placing 10th in the ladies’ event at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Freestyle Slopestyle World Cup Corvatsch in Silvaplana, Switzerland.
After disappointing results from the New Zealand men during their qualification rounds yesterday, Anna’s result has buoyed the team’s spirits.
“I hope this is a trend her results will now take for the rest of the season,” says her coach, Peter Legnavsky. “I’m looking forward to Anna getting through to finals soon.”
17 year old Norwegian skier Tiril Sjaarstad Christiansen claimed first place having led from start to finish, winning qualifiers before going on to throw the two best runs of the ladies' final to take a decisive victory. Sjaarsted Christiansen was followed up by Katie Summerhayes (GBR) and Anna Segal (AUS).
