Schweitzer Mountain Resort, USA (2 February 2017) – Mt Hutt Ski Club member Georgia Bushell (Christchurch) has wrapped up a successful race series in the USA, climbing the podium four times over the course of the week-long FIS (International Ski Federation) series.
Georgia won two Downhill races and a Super-G, placed third in Giant Slalom, fourth in another Giant Slalom and fifth in another Super-G at Schweitzer Mountain Resort in Idaho.
Speaking after the Downhill, Georgia said, “I am feeling really happy about the result, it's helped me build a lot of confidence in my speed skiing before going into the Norams.
“It was my second time doing Downhill on the hill, along with a few others, so I felt ready and excited, I knew I wanted to do well but the back-to-back wins surprised me a little!”
Georgia will now travel to Copper Mountain resort in Colorado to compete in her first North America Cup races from 3-11 February.
