Lake Wanaka, New Zealand (15 July 2012) – In a true example of the Kiwi spirit, NZ Distributors have banded together to sponsor The North Face Freeski Open of New Zealand.
The new brands sponsoring the event: Atomic, Rossignol, Salomon, Smith and Völkl, ensure that this year’s competition will be of the highest calibre.
After the late loss of a presenting sponsor, many of New Zealandʼs largest snow sports distributors met to discuss collaboratively supporting the Freeski Open. Taking advantage of the opportunity to sponsor New Zealandʼs premier freeski event, these local distributors join long time supporter The North Face, to ensure that The North Face New Zealand Freeski Open 2012 will be bigger and better than ever.
With enthusiastic support of the New Zealand distributors for Atomic, Rossignol, Salomon, Smith and Völkl the event will host Womenʼs and Menʼs AFP Gold Slopestyle and Halfpipe competitions from the 28th of August at Snow Park NZ, Freeride World Qualifier 3 Star Big Mountain competitions from the 3rd of September at The Remarkables, as well as other exciting events including a yet to be announced movie premier! Organizers are thrilled about a continued relationship with everyone involved,
“This collaboration of New Zealand distributors really demonstrates the awesome nature of the Kiwi ski industry,” says event manager Cameron Craighead, “We are really excited about this new opportunity and look forward to continuing this sponsorship format in the future.”
Registration spots for the event have been filling up very fast in the last two weeks, and any athletes yet to register should do so a soon as possible to ensure they don’t miss out.
