The XXVI Winter Universiade is being held in Trentino Italy in December 2013.
Information about the Winter Universiade has been circulated by University Sport NZ to tertiary institutions and University Ski and Snowsports clubs throughout New Zealand. University Sport NZ sought expressions of interest from athletes wishing to compete in Trentino.
At the date of close off (11 September) University Sport NZ had only received applications from three Snowboarders to compete in Trentino. Snow Sports NZ believes other FIS athletes may be eligible (competitors must be enrolled in tertiary study) and interested in competing in Trentino
University Sport NZ believes it is possible to submit late entries providing this is done within the next week. If you would like to know more about the World University Games (e.g. disciplines being contested, entry fees etc) go to www.universiadetrentino.org
Having studied the event if you would like to compete in Trentino please send your details (including the disciplines you would like to enter and a summary of your results in FIS races in 2013) to [email protected] (Jim is the Chair of University Sport NZ and is coordinating the event on behalf of USNZ) by 5:00pm on Tuesday .
NB: attendance is on a full user-pays basis (i.e. flights, accommodation, entry fees, uniforms). The New Zealand team will be organized by whoever University Sport NZ appoints as the Head of Delegation and the competitors.
