Valmalenco, Italy (29 March 2014) - It was another good day in Valmalenco, Italy for the New Zealand freeskiers and snowboarders competing at the Junior World Championships. Beau-James Wells topped the men's freeski halfpipe qualifiers while Lyon Farrell earned the day's overall highest score in men's snowboard slopestyle.
All four New Zealand competitors will now proceed to freeski halfpipe finals after achieving the following placings in qualifying rounds: Jackson Wells 5th, Finn Bilous 9th and Miguel Porteous 10th .
In a strong and deep field of 64 snowboard slopestyle competitors split into four heats, JJ Rayward claimed third in his heat to make semis with Carlos Garcia-Knight 5th in his heat also to make semis.
All seven New Zealanders will compete again tomorrow in their respective semi finals and finals.
