Teammate Charlotte Wiggins followed soon after, posting 57.39s to finished 34th.

“It was fun, I’m definitely happy. There was more I could’ve done but it was a good first run and now I’m ready for tomorrow where I’ll send it more.”

Hemi Meikle was the final Kiwi in action, contesting the men’s Super-G. The Wānaka athlete made some mistakes at the top of the course but finished strong in 55.23s to place 13th.

“It was a nice course, the snow’s pretty soft but still good so it was really fun," said Meikle.

"I'm really looking forward to the rest of the races, that's a good start so just need to keep going."

All three athletes will compete in alpine combined on Monday, January 22nd.
