Alice Robinson Takes Out USSA Western Regional Championship Title

Mammoth Mountain, USA (20 March 2016)- Queenstown ski racer Alice Robinson posted some outstanding results at the USSA Western Regional Championships at Mammoth Mountain in the USA. Alice Robinson came 5th in Super G and 1st in Slalom and GS giving her the overall Western Region USA title. Her results are particularly impressive since Alice is in her first year of U16.

"Coming into these races I was hoping to do well enough that I would be able to qualify for the u16 nationals next week in Park City, Utah; I wasn't expecting anything too big in results," says Alice.

"I definitely wasn't expecting to take out the overall title. I was very hopeful that I would be top five overall as I'm still a first year and there is some really strong competition from other regions."

Alice said that the Slalom was the most enjoyable race of the weekend.

"I loved the hill and the first run set and I had one of the best runs of slalom that I've ever done in a race."

Ben Ellis had a solid result with a 12th in Slalom. Also competing were Andie Gillings and GG Wattenmaker of QAST, who, along with Zack Limbrick Jones (who had to sit this race out due to a broken wrist) have qualified for the USSA U16 National Champs at Park City on the 30th March to 3rd April.
