Snow Sports NZ athlete Adam Hall (Wānaka) has backed up his World Cup podium from earlier this week with two fourth place finishes at the triple-header Slalom World Cup held in Japan.
The gruelling schedule saw Hall compete in three heavily contested FIS Para Alpine Slalom World Cup races in as many days.
Hall started his week with a bang, claiming a third-place finish at the first race on Tuesday, and in the process securing his first World Cup podium of the 2024 season. Yesterday he finished in fourth place, just +0.63 seconds off the podium and today Hall wrapped up a hugely successful week with another fourth-place finish.
Hall explained; “All in all I am pretty happy with my performances and the progression we are making. Each race has been in trialling conditions which has been good to challenge myself in different environments. As always a big thanks to all the professionals behind Team Adam for enabling me to still perform and compete at the top of my game.”
Snow Sports NZ Para Alpine Coach Sam Lynch was proud of Hall’s efforts this week, saying, “I am really, really proud of Adam’s performances over the last three days. To be able to put together three really consistent performances really shows his experience and ability to perform under pressure. He adapted very well to the different conditions we had each day of these World Cup races.”
Hall will now take a well-deserved break, before heading to Europe for another block of training and competition.
Hall said; “I am looking forward to getting home for two weeks to regroup, and to continue to focus on the tail end of the season with a good training block coming up in Italy and the World Cup finals in Slovenia.”
