Snow Sports New Zealand is thrilled to announce that 18 athletes have been named to the 2023/24 Snow Sports NZ Freeski and Snowboard Park and Pipe Team. These athletes were selected based on the Snow Sports NZ High Performance Pathway Selection Criteria.
The team is made up of a talented group of athletes, combining elite athletes at the top of their game with up-and-coming future champions.
Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, three-time Winter Olympic medallist and reigning Winter Olympic and X Games gold medallist, leads the charge in the snowboard team, coming into this season off the back of a dominant 2022/23 season where she finished on the podium at every event she dropped into. Current Snowboard Slopestyle Junior World Champion Lucia Georgalli is also named to the team.
The freeski team includes Beijing 2022 Olympic halfpipe gold medallist Nico Porteous, Snow Sports NZ Freeski Athlete of the Year Luca Harrington and 2023 Snow Sports NZ Breakthrough Athlete of the Year Ruby Star Andrews.
Snow Sports NZ General Manager High Performance Luke Hetzel congratulates all the athletes named to the Snow Sports NZ Team and looks forward to watching them take on the world this upcoming season.
