Alpine Technical Committee - Call for Applications

The Alpine Technical Committee (ATC) is a Snow Sports NZ Sport Committee (as referenced in the Snow Sports NZ constitution) made up of a maximum of eight members. Please refer to the ATC Terms of Reference here.

There are eight vacancies on the Alpine Technical Committee as a result of this being a new Sport Committee. The Snow Sports NZ Board’s Alpine Subcommittee (ASComm ) will appoint five people on to the ATC as follows: three people with exceptional Alpine technical expertise, one representing the Alpine athlete community, and one nominated by SAANZ to represent the New Zealand ski areas. One position will be filled via election from SSNZ membership.

Snow Sports NZ seeks nominations from a financial member who can:

  • provide a high level of experience and expertise in relation to technical operations affecting Alpine Ski Racing;
  • contribute to the review and annual update of the New Zealand Competition Rules (NZCR) for Alpine Ski Racing, and support the application of the International Competition Rules (ICR) for Alpine competitions, events, conditions of entry, including Snow Sports NZ competitive events;
  • recommend Alpine selectors to the ASComm and develop selection criteria for the New Zealand Ski Team and pinnacle events to include the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships and the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championship.
  • assist the ASComm to develop programmes, competitions, events and activities for Alpine Ski Racing including Snow Sports NZ competitive events and to implement them;
  • develop and recommend to the ASComm an annual plan (including a calendar of events) for Alpine Ski Racing which is aligned to the Snow Sports NZ strategic plan; and
  • other such duties and responsibilities as may from time to time be agreed between the Committee or a representative body of the Snow Sport recognized by the ASComm.
