Mathilda began skiing at the age of two up at Porters ski field. Following this she skied at Mt Cheeseman, Craigieburn, Mt Hutt, Treble Cone and Cardrona where at 6 years old a family friend suggested she try the racing team. Her first Interfield race was at Coronet Peak and from here there was no looking back. Her love for the mountains and the outdoors led to a full time move to Wānaka.
When she isn't skiing, Mathilda loves hiking in the remote wilderness of New Zealand, biking the local trails and is also an avid reader. Of course, in the off-season, she can also most often be found in the gym.
Mathilda aspires to represent New Zealand at the Junior World Championship and the World Championships, on the World Cup circuit and the Winter Olympics. She also believes in being a great role model to younger athletes entering the sport and giving back to her club who are always highly supportive of her endeavours.
