Join Snow Sports NZ

Becoming a member of Snow Sports NZ is a great way to get involved with and support snow sports whether you wish to compete, participate at a recreational level, have your say about your sport, or simply keep up to date with the latest news. Membership is valid for one year from 1 July to 30 June.

Why Join Snow Sports NZ?

• You will need to be a member of Snow Sports NZ if you wish to compete at snow sports events in New Zealand or overseas.

• Your membership fee is used to support your sport; for example, running events and athlete training camps and training event officials and volunteers.

• Members aged 16 and over can vote at the Snow Sports NZ AGM and stand for election to the Snow Sports NZ Board and Sports Committees. You can have your say about how competitive snow sports are run in New Zealand.

• Adaptive members receive benefits like lift pass and lesson discounts. Read about benefits for adaptive members here.

 How much does it cost to join Snow Sports NZ?

For Freeski, Snowboard, Alpine, Cross Country and Adaptive

• Members who will compete only in primary school events and have not yet reached 16 years old on 31st December can apply for a FREE membership.
• The annual fee for Individual Members (adaptive and able bodied) who have not yet reached 16 years old on 31st December is $35.00 per annum. 
• The annual fee for Individual Members (adaptive and able bodied) 16 years old and above on 31st December is $110 per annum.
• The annual fee for Individual Members who will gain a FIS or IPC licence is $350 per annum.
• The annual fee for Individual Recreational Members (able bodied) is $35 per annum.

National Competition Series

• Individual members who wish to compete in Alpine National Points races are required to purchase a National Points License at a cost of $110.00 per annum
• Individual members who wish to compete in the NZ Freestyle Series are required to purchase a Freestyle Series Licence at a cost of $110.00 per annum

Clubs

Any group of individuals with an interest in any snow sport, that is an Incorporated Society and wishes to be a Member of Snow Sports NZ as a Club shall apply to the Board.  Such application shall be made and determined by the Board as specified in the Regulations. The annual fee for Clubs is $200 per annum.
