Alpine Technical Committee snow sports nz - 2024/25 Membership Election
Following the Alpine Membership Newsletter dated 19 January 2025, four nominations have been received from our membership.
Snow Sports NZ Alpine Members are now asked to review the four applicants and vote in an online election for one open position. Please view the bios of the 2025 ATC candidates here.
The Alpine Technical Committee (ATC) is a Snow Sports NZ Sport Committee (as referenced in the Snow Sports NZ constitution) made up of a maximum of eight members. Please refer to the ATC Terms of Reference here. This election will decide the member who will join the ATC from SSNZ membership.
Snow Sports NZ sought nominations for a financial member who can:
- provide a high level of experience and expertise in relation to technical operations affecting Alpine Ski Racing;
- contribute to the review and annual update of the New Zealand Competition Rules (NZCR) for Alpine Ski Racing, and support the application of the International Competition Rules (ICR) for Alpine competitions, events, conditions of entry, including Snow Sports NZ competitive events;
- recommend Alpine selectors to the ASComm and develop selection criteria for the New Zealand Ski Team and pinnacle events to include the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships and the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championship.
- assist the ASComm to develop programmes, competitions, events and activities for Alpine Ski Racing including Snow Sports NZ competitive events and to implement them;
- develop and recommend to the ASComm an annual plan (including a calendar of events) for Alpine Ski Racing which is aligned to the Snow Sports NZ strategic plan; and
- other such duties and responsibilities as may from time to time be agreed between the Committee or a representative body of the Snow Sport recognised by the ASComm.

VOTING
To cast your vote please click on this link here. Electronic voting will remain open until 11.59pm, 23 February 2025. The candidate who is successful will be announced on 28 February 2025.
Right to vote:
- Only current, active financial members of Snow Sports New Zealand have the right to vote.
- If Member is under 16 years of age at 31 December in the membership year, they may nominate a parent or guardian entitled to vote on their behalf on members of the Sport Committee of their Designated Snow Sport(s). The voting parent or guardian must be identified in the Snow Sports NZ Members database at the time of the election and must specify which Member they are casting a vote for. In the case of siblings who are each Junior Competitive Members, a parent or guardian of the siblings may cast one vote for each sibling who is a Junior Competitive Member. (Snow Sports NZ Constitution, Section 7.8)
