Jono is originally from Quebec in Eastern Canada and has been skiing all his life all over the world – racing, teaching, coaching, heli-skiing and high mountain touring. He is a Snow Sports NZ National TD, co founder of an SSNZ affiliated Alpine Club, and is the current Chair of the Alpine Sports Committee (ASC). Jono also has a business and academic background outside of Alpine before moving to New Zealand in 2010. This year Jono took on the newly created Head of Alpine role in December 2019. In 2018 Jono worked with the SSNZ Executive and industry stakeholders to formulate and publish the new SSNZ Alpine strategy. The work to implement that strategy continues, engaging with membership and stakeholders to establish an Alpine pathway for New Zealand from grassroots to our National Alpine Team athletes.
