Jason is a registered psychologist who has been working for High Performance Sport New Zealand for over 10 years. In that time he has led the psychology programmes for cycling, rowing and equestrian sport supporting athlete’s wellbeing and performance throughout the performance pathway.
Jason is curious about human performance and how to explore the boundaries of what is possible whilst staying well. This has led him to work with athletes across a wide range of sports throughout the pathway to understand their unique psychological challenges as well as continuing to develop his knowledge and practice academically recently finishing a postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
Jason works alongside Marianne Wray to support our Snow Sports athletes as they explore and grow their potential. The snow sport psychologists look to support athletes understand themselves better, and what helps them to learn and perform in training and competition whilst prioritising their wellbeing.
When not at work Jason enjoys spending time with his wife and two young boys or a rare opportunity to fish or ski.
