Rob gets huge pleasure from skiing. Initially as an alpine athlete on the Whakapapa race programme, his journey continued through ski mountaineering, international ski instructing, ski patrolling and mountain rescue with DOC. After establishing a career in the corporate world and building and developing businesses in Christchurch, Auckland and Wānaka, he has found time in recent years to travel the world watching and supporting athletes compete in park, pipe and freeride. He has been the underwriting sponsor of the Junior Freeride Tour in New Zealand for 10 years and looks forward to continuing to give back to the competitive snow sports community through representing the voices of athletes, parents, coaches and administrators in a governance role on the Snow Sports New Zealand Board. Rob was elected to the Snow Sports NZ Board in September 2024. |
