Toby learnt to ski on his third birthday in Telluride, Colorado through the local ski school. He first started racing with Team TC in Wānaka when he was six years old, competing for the first time in the Treble Cone Junior Interfield races.

One of his most memorable skiing moments is when he was racing at Ōhau when he missed the finish and had to hike up the hill to ski through the finish and complete the race.

Toby's goal is to score World Cup points for New Zealand. When he isn't skiing you will find him surfing or playing the piano.
